Seventy-two per cent of North Americans are overweight, which has played havoc on the immune system resulting in obesity-related diseases such as the onset of diabetes, high blood pressure and less than optimal energy and vitality.  These statistics place undue burden on our present health care industry and ultimately the pockets of every individual.

  • Today in the United States, the Federal Government spends $350 Billion, or 3.5% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) on healthcare for the elderly population. That will double in just two decades.
  • Actuaries project that by 2010, per capita spending on healthcare for Americans 65+ will be $10,000.
  • Within 40 years, Washington will be spending 50% more in healthcare than in Social Security.
  • By 2075, experts are estimating healthcare expenditures for the elderly to double and stand at 14.5% of GDP
  • Cardio Vascular Disease:  One million Americans die each year equaling 42% of all deaths.
    • CD is the leading cause of death for all Americans 35 years of age and older – not limited to the elderly.
    • Heart disease and stroke account for almost 6 million hospitalizations per year.
    • Estimated cost of healthcare expenditures and loss of productivity due to CD is more than $300 billion per year.
